Audi Q7 Design
Q7 is a Sports Utility Vehicle produced by Audi. It was first shown to the general public during the World Motor Show in September, 2005. Q7 is based on the platform of Audi Pikes Peak Quattro that was introduced during Detroit motor show.
Q7`s platform is E platform and the same can be said about VW Touring and Porsche Cayenne. All of these cars (VW Touring, Porsche Cayenne, and Q7) are produced in a Slovak city of Bratislava.
The main features of Q7 include full-time all-wheel drive (quattro), weight distribution ratio that makes up 40:60 (front axle : rear axle), and a third row of seats.
The third row is designed for people shorter than 1 m 60 cm. It is rather difficult to get there as the backs of the second row aren`t folding ones.
The gearbox` gear ratio makes it difficult to drive this car in lack-of-roads conditions. What is more, really low trunk narrows this long car`s ride performance (5.09 m).
Q7`s specialized equipment includes Adaptive Cruise Control (it controls the distance between your car and the car in front of you), Adaptive Air Suspension, and Side Assist (it warns the driver if there is something moving within the dead zone). Rear-view camera along with the system that detects obstacles while parking is a standard feature all Q7 cars boast of. What is more, Q7 is one of the first automobiles to be provided with Bluetooth cell that features SIM Access Profile.
A 6-cylinder engine car cost 48.300 euro in March, 2007 while 3.0 TDI cost 50.800 euro. 67.200 euro was the price to pay to get an 8-cylinder gasoline powered engine, and 4.2 diesel cost somewhere about 70.500 euro.
Awards
Q7 was awarded "Golden Steering Wheel" prize on the November, 10, 2005 for being the best automobile of its class. The readers of "Auto, Motor und Sport" named this car the automobile of the year 2006.
What is more, there are dainty versions on the market, which are "Abt AS7 / Abt AS7-R".
