There were 2- and 4-door sedan modifications offered since 1976, however a year later a station wagon was included in the range.
A rather large rear door inclination is a distinctive feature of the station wagon, it makes it look like a hatchback. The model reminded Audi 80 when looking at it, however being larger.
In 1979 a top version of an Audi 100 is introduced and it`s named Audi 200. Its body type is sedan and it was in production since 1984. Chrome edging of the front panel and smaller front headlamps were the details that made the model different. The interior was trimmed with leather and there were details covered with precious woods used.
An all-wheel drive sedan Audi 100 (third generation) is produced in 1982. This full-size sedan was chosen the "Automobile of the Year 1983" during Frankfort motor show. The modification is really impressive because of its spacious saloon and comfortable seats. The trunk volume is 570 liters.
The models with fully galvanized bodies are produced after 1985. Newer models were provided with brand wing guards and sills and doors linings for better corrosion protection.
